Dan Gun

Dan Gun is named for the Holy Dan Gun, the legendary founder of Korea in 2333 B.C.E.

  1. Turn counter-clockwise moving the left foot, forming a right L-stance toward B, while executing a middle guarding block with a knifehand.
  2. Step forward with the right foot, forming a right walking stance toward B, while executing a high front punch with the right forefist.
  3. Turn clockwise moving the right foot, forming a left L-stance toward A, while executing a middle guarding block with a knifehand.
  4. Step forward with the left foot, forming a left walking stance toward A, while executing a high front punch with the left forefist.
  5. Turn counter-clockwise moving the left foot, forming a left walking stance toward D, while executing a low outward block with the left outer forearm.
  6. Step forward with the right foot, forming a right walking stance toward D, while executing a high front punch with the right forefist.
  7. Step forward with the left foot, forming a left walking stance toward D, while executing a high front punch with the left forefist.
  8. Step forward with the right foot, forming a right walking stance toward D, while executing a high front punch with the right forefist.
  9. Turning counter-clockwise moving the left foot, forming a right L-stance toward E, while executing a twin block with the outer forearms.
  10. Step forward with the right foot, forming a right walking stance toward E, while executing a high front punch with the right forefist.
  11. Turning clockwise moving the right foot, forming a left L-stance toward F, while executing a twin block with the outer forearms.
  12. Step forward with the left foot, forming a left walking stance toward F, while executing a high front punch with the left forefist.
  13. Turning counter-clockwise moving the left foot, forming a left walking stance toward C, while executing a low outward block with the left outer forearm.
  14. Maintain a left walking stance toward C and execute a rising block with the left outer forearm.
    Perform moves 13 and 14 in a continuous motion.
  15. Step forward with the right foot, forming a right walking stance toward C, while executing a rising block with the right outer forearm.
  16. Step forward with the left foot, forming a left walking stance toward C, while executing a rising block with the left outer forearm.
  17. Step forward with the right foot, forming a right walking stance toward C, while executing a rising block with the right outer forearm.
  18. Turning counter-clockwise moving the left foot, forming a right L-stance toward B, while executing a middle outward side strike with the left knifehand.
  19. Step forward with the right foot, forming a right walking stance toward B, while executing a high front punch to B with the right forefist.
