Do San

Do San is the pseudonym of the patriot Ahn Chang-Ho (1876-1938). The 24 moves represent his life, which he dedicated to the education of Korea and to it's independence movement.

  1. Turn counter-clockwise moving the left foot, forming a left walking stance toward B while executing a high side block with the left outer forearm.

  2. Maintain a left walking stance toward B, execute a middle front punch with the right forefist.

  3. Move the left foot on line AB, and then turn clockwise moving the right foot forming a right walking stance toward A while executing a high side block with the right outer forearm.

  4. Maintain a right walking stance toward A, while executing a middle front punch with the left forefist.

  5. Turn counter-clockwise moving the left foot, forming a right L-stance toward D, while executing a middle guarding block with a knifehand.

  6. Step forward with the right foot, forming a right walking stance toward D while executing a middle front thrust with the right straight fingertip, bringing the left backhand under the right elbow joint.

  7. Shift forward with the left foot while twisting the right knifehand until the palm faces downward.

    Perform as a release motion

    Then turn counter clockwise moving the left foot to form a left walking stance toward D while executing a high side strike with the left backfist.

  8. Step forward with the right foot forming a right walking stance toward D while executing a high side strike to D with the right backfist.

  9. Turn counter-clockwise moving the left foot, to form a left walking stance toward E while executing a high side block with the left outer forearm.

  10. Maintain a left walking stance toward E, execute a middle front punch with the right forefist.

  11. Move the left foot on line EF, and then turn clockwise moving the right foot to form a right walking stance toward F while executing a high side block with the right outer forearm.

  12. Maintain a right walking stance toward F and execute a middle front punch with the left forefist.

  13. Turn counter-clockwise while moving the left foot forming a left walking stance toward CE, while executing a high wedging block with the outer forearm.

  14. Execute a middle front snap kick to CE with the right foot, keeping the position of the hands as they were in move 13.

  15. Lower the right foot forming a right walking stance toward CE while executing a middle front punch with the right forefist.

  16. Maintain a right walking stance toward CE, execute a middle front punch to CE with the left forefist.

    Perform moves 15 and 16 in a fast motion.

  17. Turn clockwise moving the right foot forming a right walking stance toward CF while executing a high wedging block with the outer forearm.

  18. Execute a middle front snap kick to CF with the left foot, keeping the position of the hands as they were in move 17.

  19. Lower the left foot forming a left walking stance toward CF while executing a middle front punch with the left forefist.

  20. Maintain a left walking stance toward CF, execute a middle front punch with the right forefist.

    Perform moves 19 and 20 in a fast motion.

  21. Turn counter-clockwise moving the left foot forming a left walking stance toward C, while executing a rising block with the left forearm.

  22. Step forward with the right foot forming a right walking stance toward C while executing a rising block with the right forearm.

  23. Turn counter clockwise moving the left foot forming a sitting stance toward D while executing a middle outward side strike with the left knifehand.

  24. Bring the left foot to the right foot and then step with the right foot forming a sitting stance toward D while executing a middle outward side strike with the right knifehand.

END: Step with the right foot to parallel ready stance toward D.
